I was wondering if there is a difference in walther kk500, grunig r3 racer, blieker, and anschutz barrel performance.

the most expensive blieker and grunig.
at a moderate price walther kk500 and anschutz.

blieker and grunig, It is more than twice as expensive as kk500 or anschutz.
Is there a difference in performance as much as the price of all these products?

My take is that Walther barrels can be outstanding; at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, five of the six Men's 50m medals were won by Walther shooters. However, will the average customer get the same barrel as a successful International shooter? Bleiker made their name twenty years ago by not offering selected barrels, everyone got the same. You paid a pretty penny for this though.

In short, a Wather or Anschutz will be accurate enough for almost all shooters, but if you want 110% confidence in your barrel, but don't have contacts at the factory, or just can afford the price, pay the premium for a Bleiker or Grunig.

I'm betting that the different manufacturers give their guns, ammo, sights, etc., to some of the best shooters with the understanding that their product will be used in the competitions and will win. The result is great advertising. Let's remember the old saying: "It's not the arrow, it's the indian."

Anecdotally, Walthers shoot very well from the factory and current Anschutz rifles are hit and miss (with Anschutz barrels).

A few years ago I've visited the Bleiker factory. I don't know if it's still the case but they didn't produce the barrel. Lilja barrel blanks were installed.
I am pretty sure that they are still great barrels

A few months ago I had a Blieker in the shop. It was shooting poorly. Scoped the barrel and saw a Void about midway down the barrel. Blieker would not respond to the customer’s emails about the situation.

I'm a benchrest shooter. I have had two custom actions built with Shilen 4 groove match select ratchet barrels...by respected rimfire smiths. Both were excellent shooters. My Walther KK500 edges them both out with the stock barrel. I'm nobody. Maybe just luck?

I don't know of any experiments comparing the accuracy of these two, but I've heard that the trend is as follows,

Anschütz and Walther barrels (the cheaper ones) are mass-produced, and it seems that as long as they have a certain level of accuracy, they are sold. So, the individual differences in accuracy is quite obvious, and as a whole, the accuracy is bad in comparison. Probably.

On the other hand, Swiss brands (the more expensive ones) use custom barrels (probably other companies' such as Shilen). In addition, they pay attention to other details such as the length of the bolt - length of the bolt is finely adjusted according to the rim thickness (thickness of the flat plate at the very backside of the bullet catridge) of the SB bullet, which differs slightly among Eley, Lapua, etc. The more tight it is, the better. So it certainly has more accuracy than German ones.

Bleiker used to set headspace to suit Eley Tenex/Match, ca 0.039in from memory. However, I've never seen a scientific study showing very tight headspace vs CIP/SAAMI
minimum increases accuracy. It might not hurt, with the intended ammo, but can limit choice. Which was why Bleiker offered an alternative bolt insert for a larger HS. I believe Grunig set headspace to accommodate any cartridge, but supply inserts so customers can reduce this if they wish. You can do exactly the same thing with Anschutz and Walther with steel shims.

Conversley, I had a problem with my Grunig (trigger) last year, the issue happened just after lunchtime at the Eley test range. 10am the next morning I had the replacement through the post. OK that was throught the excelent UK supplier but G&E gave the go ahead to replace the trigger and firing pin FOC
