Another "which air rifle" post

I know, I know but this ones a little different I think... My daughter who's a senior in HS has gotten it into her head that if she gets into a school with a team she wants to continue shooting. I thought that's great until she also decided that she want's a "grown up" air rifle. She has an FWB 700 jr Aluminum right now and it fits her well I think (but what do I know). She is 5'2 and around 120lbs and is an ex cheerleader so she can handle weight. All that being said can you make any suggestions on which newer models may be appropriate? We were looking at possibly FWB 800 or 800X with an aluminum shroud, LG400, or even Tesro RS 100 pro. Another question I had is whether anyone has any experience with the FWB 800 wood? Thanks as always!

In those prices, there is choice with several models of (assuming prices and distribution are similar in your country) :

Walther LG400
- Competition http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1168
- Expert http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1166)
Anschutz 9015
- Alu http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/776 http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1335
- ONE Basic http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1897
Feinwerkbau P800
- Universal http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1870
- Alu http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1458
- W (wood/alu) http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1666
- X http://www.keuchen.de/product_info.php/products_id/1358

There are also higher models like 9015 ONE/Precise, Pardini GPR1, Walther Anatomic ...

All these mecanism are great to shoot with, and it will come to personnal preferences, feelings, design.
The best would be her to try in a shop, or with friends's rifle.
If she is used to the Feinwerkbau, going with the same brand can "facilitate the transition".

Steyr and Tesro rifles also throw all the pellets in the inner ten, but i find them not as polished as others (but they are way less expensive).

Piefou, Thank you for the suggestions! Do you have any insights into the Anschutz 1903 S2 Precise? I have a chance to get a new one at what I think is a pretty decent price. I have never looked at Anschutz seriously so don't have any knowledge about their airguns.

I'm very happy with my FWB 700 aluminum but I just wish my particular one was newer. I've had first hand experience with a LG400 competition and it's very nice. You can't go wrong with any quality air rifle on the market, just personal preference. They all feel surprisingly different.

Thanks for the input! I live in Mass. not really a hotbed of ISSF activity so shopping is a long distance affair. She is going to U.T Martin for a match this week maybe she'll have a chance to talk to some of the shooters and handle their guns there.

Sorry for the late answer.

I suppose you mean 9003 S2 Precise ? (1903 is a smallbore action)
Never shot with it, but I use the Precise stock in smallbore, and it's a great piece of engineering, with a lot of fine adjustments, you can't go wrong with it.

you are exactly right the 9003 is what I meant (how did I screw that up?). You echo most of what I've heard/read ab out the precise so I will put it to her for consideration. thanks again!
