I wish to take apart the FAS SP 602 magazine, for cleaning and changing the follower or the spring, but I am not sure how to proceed.
Any pointers?
There is a rectangular cross-slot bar located near the base of the magazine, that seems stuck or rusty.
How is it dislodged?
Pushed through?
Thank you for your help.

Re: FAS SP 602 magazine disassembly
That looks like a newer magazine which the base is not made to remove. To do so would mis-shape the magazine. The older magazines with the metal follower had a removable base plate.

This is a 602 magazine with the removable base plate.

Thank you Greg.
There is no visible base to be removed, indeed.

Re: FAS SP 602 magazine disassembly
A Bow Opening Plier or Reverse Action Plier may do the job of disassembling the FAS magazines, I'm told.
I wonder if anyone has tried it.

Re: FAS SP 602 magazine disassembly
They can be dismantled relatively easily by spreading the sides either side of the cross bar and sliding it out.
As far as I remember I used a flat blade screwdriver of the right width and twisting it to spread the sides.

Thanks for the tip, JamesH.
I may give it a try as the steel of the magazine seems to allow bending it out of shape and back in the original shape.
Cheers.
