Laminated Wood Sources for Rifle

Post by Hon »

Hi,

Does anybody know where to get this kind of laminated wood for a DIY project on rifle stock? Thanks a lot.

I've looked into this in the past, but did not follow through, so I don't have any personal experience. I was looking at this site:
https://www.universalply.com/product/cw ... ed-blanks/

but there are others if you do a web search for laminated wood blanks for rifle stocks.

Give Doyle Anglin a call at Dixie Guns. He is a supplier to a number of Benchrest builders and a benchrest rifle builder himself. He is the supplier to Shehane too.

Doyle is best reached by phone.

Or call Bob White at The Shooters Corner in New Jersey.

I don't think Rutland Plywood ever came back from their fire.

Who ever replaced Rutland has also been supplying (Pre-Closing) Remington with their laminated stocks. Same for Browning with their laminated stocks, but mainly for shotguns.

Had a Dakota Arms, built Remington Custom Shop Targetmaster 40X build recently and it has the laminated stock on that they are currently sourcing. You might want to call Dakota Arms if you run out of options.

If you haven't found anything yet, check this out.

https://www.cwp-usa.com/collections/dymalux-panels

If weight isn't an issue, I would highly recommend the Dymalux material. They also have Spectraply. You can see more colors under Spectraply. You can get them in either. Basic difference is Dymalux is compressed much more than Spectraply.
