Re-parallax 4x scope?

Greetings all,

Since running target 4x scopes are nearly impossible to acquire, I have read that some scopes can be re-parallaxed to 10 m. Does anyone have done so?

Kindest regards,

N

In general, to do this you need to unscrew objective near 1-2-turns (circa 0.5-1mm). After you should find position of objective with best sharpness on 10m. And next step you will measure gap between objective assembly and scope body , and find any copper, steel or aluminium wire with corresponding diameter and make ring from it and insert it into the gap and tighten objective.

Forgive me for tagging on here, but I've always wondered about re-parallaxing a scope. What if the scope is gas filled? Will the process compromise the seals, and allow air to enter the scope?

To the OP, are you considering re-parallaxing a RT scope, or just a 4X scope? If the latter, why not buy one that does focus to 10M?
