Kneeling roll filler?

I've recently picked up 10 new kneeling rolls for our junior team but I've hit a bit of a snag. I want to remove the cork filler and replace it with the little plastic injection pellets but the person I usually get those from no longer has acces to them. I am wondering if the plastic BBs that are used in airsoft guns would work well? I don't want to use rice or similar filler because these will be stored in a shed outside and I don't want them getting chewed up. I searched around but I can't really think of anything else to put in there.

Any other ideas or alternatives?

I personally use the plastic injection pellets...but several people on my team use the airsoft pellets; they all dont mind them, and their scores show it!

Cork pieces break down over time and the roll changes size.

So, I guess the airsoft pellets do not deform and should be OK, right?

The cork will slowly break down. It may not be very noticeable at first but it will eventually become an issue with maintaining a consistent NPA. The plastic BBs are just right. Fairly cheap too if you get them in the large bulk packs.

Thanks for the help!

I did try airsoft pellets and look fine, but my kneeling roll is too heavy now and not convenient for air travel... How about grasss seeds?

If you stay domestic, it would not be an issue. If flying internationally, most countries have issues regarding plant matter - such as seeds - and it may be confiscated. That was an issue years ago when quite a few shooters used birdseed.

Im serious, ask your veterinarian if they can get you a gallon of plastic pellets.
