Do a search. We hashed this out months ago.

Do you mean in a CO2 pistol or in PCP pistol ?

These two work very differently as the CO2 has no pressure regulator (CO2 is stored liquid in the CO2 pistol cartridge, pressure is "regulated" by the CO2 liquid to gas transition that occur at a stable pressure for a given temperature) while the PCP has a pressure regulator (air is stored as gas in a PCP pistol cartridge.

My bad.

Nitrogen in a PCP good. Nitrogen in a CO2 no good. (But do the search.)

The best thing to do is to try using both and there you can decide which is preferable.

As mentioned you can't use either in a CO2 pistol, but Nitrogen in an air pistol may well work. Not recommended though.

But as Rover says, do a search on here and it will give you lots more info.

Nitrous oxide might work well.

first - why post this pistol-based question in a RIFLE forum?

second - nitrogen gas to the legal pressure limit for the cylinder will not give 40/60 shots
- nitrous oxide ('creamer' sparklets) will.
- nitrous oxide seems to deliver the same accuracy in CO2 pistols

third - why?

I have a feeling if a lot of people were shooting in a small range some people would start falling asleep.....
