pistol vs arm position

Post by yana »

With stretched arm, should the pistol line run exactly over the (middle of)side of yr forarm? Or a tad to the side of it?

Probably not along it, if you are of normal structure. If,however, the bones of your arm are aligned with the location of your eye while in position, then they may line up.

In case my humor above didn't come across as well as intended:

Basically, the sights should align with your eye when in position. For most, it would be a strain, or at least an exagerated head tilt to make that lineup include the arm bones.

Hmm, noted I posted this in the wrong section..rifle instead of pistol..
I was asking cause I wondered wether it could cause horizontal errors if the pistol line isnt in line with yr arm bone..

Not specifically from being out of line with the bones, but if the muscles aren't in balance when the sights are aligned to the eye, yes.

You should work toward a grip and stance such that as you raise the pistol, the sights come into alignment as they reach the target height. If they are left or right and you adjust at the wrist, there will be horizontal unbalance and this can shift your impact.
