Need some help sizing a shooting coat for petite shooter

My daughter is graduating to a 1903 and now needs a better shooting coat. She's 18 and probably won't grow much more. Like her mom, she is petite, 31 24 31. How the heck do I find a shooting coat for her that will fit properly? I'm seeing products that start at 34". One thought is to make sure she has a sweatshirt on under it, but moving buttons an inch and then having to make up two more inches seems difficult. Female shooters/coaches are especially welcome to comment.

And boys, no, you can't have her phone number!

Todd,
Call Champion Shooters Supply 1-800-821-GUNS. The woman that I talked to was very helpful in fitting a coat for my daughter. I bought a used one from them based on her sizing, and it fit perfectly. They will buy it back when she outgrows it, and it was like new. They know their product line well, and should be of help. If you are looking for a custom coat I would recommend Monard. They have sizing information on their web site, and are also very helpful over the phone. Their off the rack coats were more form fitting, and didn't suit my daughter, but as I said they were very helpful in determining that.

Best bet is a custom Suit
Check out Monard, Thume, Sauer. Monard has a sizing chart.

Monard has women's jackets, and even for their men's styles, has various choices. I'd suggest talking to Try & Bom, the US dealer for Monard. http://www.monard.biz/index.htm

I am in the same boat (small female in her 20's). I've been looking everywhere for coats and so far what I've come up with is the Junior model by Monard. The women's sizes are not going to fit, just like shopping for clothes where there is "womens" "misses" and "juniors". Get your daughter's measurements in centimeters and try comparing to the sizing chart on Monard's website.

I highly recommend talking to the Monard folks. They are great to work with, happy to answer all your questions, and get back to you in a timely manner. I absolutely love my new suit that I ordered from them.

Most of our Petite shooters have switched to Mouche jackets and pants.

Telcomtodd,

There's a 3P outdoor match at Fairfax Rod and Gun Club on June 7th, I'd be willing to bet that Janet Raab will be there. Give Centershot a call, if she's going to be there come up, shoot a match and have Janet measure your daughter for a custom suit.
