Air Gun Service Experiences

Post by TC Johnson »

Greetings!

I had an odd response from someone who was initially interested in the Beemans 400 I am selling. When indicated that the gun had been serviced by Air Rifle Specialists (ARS) in New York, they decided not to purchase the rifle. I was not aware of any problems with ARS at the time he worked on it.

Did I miss something?

I have owned them in the past, and getting someone to work on older Diana recoiless air rifles (especially with the older seals that deteriorated regularly) was a pain. A lot of good airgun smiths would not work on them due to their complexity. Then there are people I know who had them supposidly "repaired" but came back in semi-functional condition. I have no direct knowledge of ARS's Diana repairs, but that general concern may be what you are seeing in the marketplace.
