selection process

David, I could not agree more. Any time politics raises its ugly head concentration on shooting world level scores. goes out the window and scheming takes over, Sucking up to the coaches becomes routine and training suffers. Your last statement about coaches lighting the fire is dead on. and I believe the coach must be able to take his own ego out of the process and dedicate his total effort toward supporting the shooters/ competitiors as they prepare to exceed their previous goals. Those who are satisfied at their current level of performance must be moved out of the way unless they are the current world champion and I am not even sure that level should suffice for tennior.
