Palm Rests

Post by Guest »

I just got a new smallbore rifles but the offhand block that came with it is fairly limiting. Any experience with really good palm rests out there that will fit a walther KK300 Aluminum?

I have the same problem, I bought a new rifle and the palm rest that came with it is much too low. I put my old "platform" type Anschutz palm rest on and its much better (higher) but still not high enough, I fear the only solution is a new Anschutz "platform" palm rest with the block attached to the tune of $205. I'll suffer for now.

They crop up on ebay in good nick nearly every week. Just search for palm rest or Anschutz. If it fits an Anschutz rail it will fit Walther too.

Did you flip the ofset plate over on the Anschutz rest? It can be flipped over so the offset is down. A boy who shoots with us needed some extra height and we did this and it did the trick. Really as much as the Anschutz palm rest costs it is the best I have seen. Maybe the Centra would be better but they are not know for low prices either.

A really nice offhand rest is the "System Gemini Ultra Standing Block" which can be found at http://hps-tr.com/SG_access.asp I'm not exactly sure if it will give you enough height but it looks like it will give you a lot.

I hadn't thought of trying that Pete. Sounds like it might do it and save me a couple of hundred bucks to boot! I'll look at it tonight, Thanks!

Their prices are absolutely ridiculous when you factor in the exchange rate. http://hps-tr.com/prices.asp?currency=2 ... e+Currency

How about just adding some blocks of wood. Let's keep it simple.

Pete, flipping that plate on the palm rest worked like a charm! Rifle is much higher in the offhand position now, Thanks!
