which point the additional counterweight be added?

Post by loadcc »

My device is 1.5kg lighter than the weight specified by the ISSF. Which position should the additional counterweight be setted? or other point is much better.
any suggestion is helpful.

For a total of 1.5 kg suggest A and D first. Many recommend center of balance 1-2 cm in front of support hand.

I would definitely agree with what 'dude mentioned above. Look seriously into adding weight at the back of the stock (A). Since air rifles do not have hook buttplates, they tend to benefit by having additional weight in the back of the stock. Bear in mind that where you put the weight will impact how heavy the rifle "feels". As an example, more weight on the barrel will feel heavier to the shooter then weigh towards the back of the rifle. Play around with, and see what you like. I had weight towards the back of mine and around the area of the support hand.

Added 200g at point A and 200g at point D, totaling 400g, which is less lighter than 1500g. Because I am a young boy now , arm is not very strong. During the first training after added, my hand was tired and uncomfortable after 30 shots, my left hand was sore, and my performance was not good. But last time, I fired my second shot, a total of 40 shots, achieved my PB.
The extra weight is a key to bulleye .
thanks all above big "dude" :)

If your left hand hurts there may be something wrong with your setup. It should be acting just as a platform.

GUANGGE & SUOOTER are the two biggest company .

Thanks for the reply. The square barrel profile made me wonder about just that. James Storm
