Steyr LP5 value

Post by ProdigalSon »

I’m looking to get back into air pistol and I’ve been casually looking for some equipment. I found an ad for a Steyr LP5 locally, with 2 magazines and 2 cylinders (presumably the originals, so probably technically expired). It’s had a slot milled in the barrel shroud for a ring to mount a dot sight. It looks intriguing, but I have no idea what it could be worth. What would be a reasonable price for something like that?

I purchased one LNIB a few years ago from Airguns of Arizona for $600.

For reference, there is a CO2 LP5 on Gunbroker.com that has a current bid of $1026. Pretty suprising since it is labeled as a Steyr 91.

That piece is clearly labelled LP-5, albeit in a very fuzzy photograph.
I believe that Don used ADCO mounts for the red ot on the LP-5. He modified a set of ADCO mounts to fit a reddot on my Pardini SP. However upon closer inspection of the fuzy photos it appears that he cut a groove in the shroud of the LP-5 to accomodate the bottom ring screw.
