TSA at COS revisited

Post by dflast »

Just now back home from the Spring Airgun matches in Colorado Springs. I Priority Mailed my cylinders to and from and packed my Steyr with a dummy cylinder I made up for Scatt use.

When leaving Seattle, TSA didn't want me to unlock the pistol case: "We don't look in those any more."

On the way home, TSA at COS pawed through the entire suitcase, had me unlock the pistol case and prodded around the foam looking for hidden ? but - I'd expected to have to defend the dummy - pretty much ignored the pistol itself: "We don't examine the guns." Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice....

By the way, no one has ever questioned my carbide sight smoker, which is in plain sight in the pistol case.
