Pressure testing air cylinders for air pistols and rifles.

Post by JohnCfromMD »

This may be a stupid question BUT, I always wondered about this. Does pressure testing have to be done in the US? I have two pistols, a Morini M10 about 15 years old and a Feinwerkbau Model 55 (5-shot) about 10 years old. Do they get pressure tested or do you have to replace them????

Welcome to the world of ISSF regs.

You have to replace the cylinders ... as far as I know there is now one able/willing to retest & certify these small cylinders.

If you are just shooting in your basement, no issue, but if you shoot in an ISSF or USA Shooting match cylinders must be less than 10 years old.

Let me add to the above:

First, the cylinder is not going to blow up in your face.

Second, almost no one cares if your cylinders are in date.
