Working out average

Post by TommyH »

I have recently taken part in my first two 10 metre air pistol comp's. At the end of the second comp' I was given a computer printout of my shooting. It read at the bottom of the page score = 562.2, average 533. Please tell me how the average is worked out?

Thanks

Tom

It sounds like someone has incorrectly set the software to give decimal scoring in a qualifying stage. That should not happen for pistol.

Take the total of each of the 2 matches, with integer scoring, add them together and divide by 2 to get your 60 shot average. It will either end with ".0" or ".5".
