Feinwerkbau p34 won't cock

Post by Felizondo »

Hello guys. I am Fernando and this is my first post.
I don't shoot much anymore but I still have my feinwerkbau p34 that I purchased about 13 years ago. Every once in a while I pull it out and shoot. This last time I pulled it out the breech won't cock!!!! It opens nicely but won't engage the trigger!!!! I don't know what to do as I couldn't find anything online like this. I was thinking of taking it apart but read several posts not recommending that. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!!!! :)

Follow the steps to readjust your sear engagement.

http://www.pilkguns.com/tenp/ -> Feinwerkbau -> P34

Don't take it apart until you adjust the trigger screws.

Hope this helps

Just a guess, but if you couldn't get it to cock by adjusting the screws, I suspect that some part may be broken.
The pistol is easy to work on if you are mechanically inclined.
Study the exploded diagram and go slow.
Take pictures as you go along. It helps a lot, specially if it's the first time you take a pistol apart.

Hope this helps

After checking the sear engagement, when you opened the flap to the rearest to cock the pistol, did you feel resistance or it felt loose? Did you also test and check the cross-bolt dry firing?

So I took the gun apart and a small spring in the trigger assembly was gunked up with old grease. Fixed it and is working like new. Still couldn't do the seat engagement adjustment though hahahahaha.
Thanks for everything guys. :)

Hi,

Today I tried to fire my P34 after a long time and I noticed that it does not cock.

I pull the flap rearward but it does not stays back. The final position does not allow to place a pellet in the loading aperture (only 3 mm of opening space).

Is this the same problem you had? If so, could you describe what you did?

Cheers,

Francisco

If the pistol has not been used for a long time, the grease or oil could have gunked up the sear mechanism. Did you check if the sear or absorber needs to be readjusted?

Hey Francisco,
I disasembled the gun and what I found was that the grease in the trigger mechanism was all gunked up. I just cleaned it and reassembled it. I had no idea what I was doing I just kind of followed this diagram and used common sense when taking it apart. It was actually simpler than I thought.
