Air rifle spring compressor?

Post by javaduke »

Does anyone know if there are commercially available air rifle spring compressors? I know it's easy to make one and I saw a lot of plans and tutorials, but unfortunately I don't have time to build one, so I'm just looking to buy. Apparently the B-Square one is discontinued, but are there any others available?

I am not aware of any commercially available units currently for sale. With two people (one pushing the tube endcap in place under spring pressure) and one to affix the end cap in place, many can be rebuilt without one. Some air rifles (like the Beeman R1 I believe) don't have very much static preload on the spring to begin with, however magnum springers and gas ram guns can be the opposite.

You can slightly modify a parallel or pipe clamp to fit your gun as a spring compressor.

Javaduke,

Like many others, I use a modified sash-cramp - works fine :)

Have fun !
