VTWinterPostalLeague@yahoo.com VTWinter.PostalLeague.com

Welcome to Week One of this Year’s Vermont Winter Postal League. This season the league has grown to 19 teams, with 153 entrants, from 3 countries and 12 states. Our overall Team Leader this week was last year’s league champion Albion PA they fired a 1579 led by Joe Shrader who fired a 397, Joe was also this weeks, Top Shot in the league in 4-P. They were followed by the Plattsburgh Rough Riders, 1572 led by Peter Visconti’s 395 in 4-P. Third place went to Whitehall, 1567, (the team with the most league championships), their top shooter was Lou Pratt 395 in 4-P. Whitehall was followed closely by Jamestown, who were just one point behind with a 1566.

This week’s Top Prone shooter was John Liska 397 of Barrington. Our top Standing shooter was David Higgins an individual shooter from Colorado 393. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson 394, Jamestown, 4-P; Eric Sloan and Brendan Whittaker 395, both of Niantic, Prone and Eric Sloan 391, Standing.

This year the league has three divisions, North, South and West. Plattsburgh once again is the center of the Universe and the dividing line. Not only will we have Division standings, but each week we will put together an all star team from each division a North vs. South vs. West Challenge. We will also do this with the juniors. At the end of the season we will have a first and second team All-Division Team posted for each Division. The nice part of this league is we have shooters from all skill levels and ages, our oldest All-Star is 83 and youngest JR. All-Star is just 12.

This is our very first year using our new web site for reporting scores. Please be patient as we work out any bugs in the system. You can go directly to VTWinter.postalLeague.com and see all of the individual results. Please make every effort to have your team scores sent in on time, as soon as they are fired, by Sunday afternoon at the latest. I plan to send out next week’s results Monday morning.

You can find the full results at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com . For this week I have included the Team Standings and Individual Team Results in this report, just to be sure we got it right. You can also find that on the web. Each week I will continue to have the Division standings and All-Star stats in my written report.

The league is on facebook, you can find updates about the league on that site. Please look us up, and share your team photos and “like” us. Please share this e-mail with your teammates and fellow shooters. See you all at the range.

VT Winter Postal League 2015 Week 2 Results

VTWinterPostalLeague@yahoo.com VTWinter.PostalLeague.com

Welcome to Week Two of this Year’s Vermont Winter Postal League. Our overall Team Leader once again is Albion PA they fired a 1573 led by Nate Pavolko who fired a 397. Nate was tied for this week’s top 4-P score. They were followed by the Plattsburgh Rough Riders, 1572 led by Peter Visconti’s 395 in 4-P. Third place went to Jamestown, 1563, their top shooter was Clayton Hanson with a 397 in 4-P, who tied with Nate for top 4-P score this week. Whitehall took third this place this week with a 1560 followed closely by Barrington’s 1558.

This week’s Top Prone shooter was Eric Sloan 397 with the Niantic team. Our top Standing shooter was Jim Perrin of Rochester who fired a 393. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson, 397, Jamestown, 4-P; Eric Sloan, 397, Prone, and Eric Sloan 391, Standing.

So far year to date, Albion PA is in first, Plattsburgh Rough Riders, second, Jamestown NY third and just two point lower is Whitehall for fourth. Individually James Cummings, of Burlington, is our 4-P average leader (396), John Liska, of Barrington, is or prone average leader (396.5) and Eric Sloan of Niantic is our standing leader with a (393).

In all star action, the Western All-Star outshot the South by just one point this week, a reversal from last week. Neither team is dropping many points at all. The southern Juniors were top again this week over the West.

The web site still seems to have some minor bumps but is getting better. A few of the problems are actually human error in entering scores. Please be sure visit the site and check out all the individual scores at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com . I will cut and paste the individual Averages as shown on the web site at the bottom of this report this week. For many of you, including myself, using the web site to view your scores is a new experience. Please make every effort to have your team scores sent in on time, as soon as they are fired, by Saturday night if possible.

Next week is a schedule “bye”week to give everyone a chance to get a week ahead in case of a snow storm or other unexpected event. Week three scores are due by February 14th. This was done for several reasons, first being the way Easter fell this year, second many teams are hit hard with snow storms these two weeks, and finally I will be on vacation from the 3-10th. I have my smart phone with me so I am still reachable 24/7, but it gives me a chance to relax and not worry as much. It is suggested that you shoot week 3 during this approaching week, post your scores then move onto week four the following week. If you do this and your team has a problem during the next few weeks they will still be on schedule. There should be no excuse to not get your scores in on time, or at least by Saturday.

You can find the full results at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com . I have again included the Team Standings and Individual Team Results in this report, along with the year to date standings.

VT Winter Postal League 2015 Week 3 Results
VTWinterPostalLeague@yahoo.com VTWinter.PostalLeague.com

Welcome to Week Three of this Year’s Vermont Winter Postal League. Our overall Team Leader for the first time this season was the Plattsburgh NY, Rough Riders the club was led by Norbert Yakey and Peter Visconti who both fired a 396 in 4-P. They were followed by Albion PA, 1574 led by Nathan Pavolko’s 395 in 4-P. Third place went to Whitehall, 1568, their top shooter was John Hollister and Pete Steffan who both fired a 393. All three clubs sit in first place in their respective divisions. Jamestown came in fourth overall with a 1560 this week with a 1560 followed closely by Burlington’s 1554. Albion PA is currently in first place overall in league competition with a total team score of 4726 followed closely by Plattsburgh 4723.

This week’s Top 4-P shooter was Jim Perrin of Rochester who fired a 398, the highest score this season by any shooter. This week’s Top Prone shooter was again Eric Sloan 397 with the Niantic team. Our top Standing shooter was Jim Perrin who fired a 396. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson, 395, Jamestown, 4-P; Eric Sloan, 397, Prone, and Eric Sloan 392, Standing.

Year to date, Albion PA is in first, 4726, followed closely by the Plattsburgh Rough Riders, second, 4723, Whitehall NY third and Jamestown is in fourth. Individually James Cummings, of Burlington, is our 4-P average leader (396), Eric Sloan of Niantic, is or prone average leader (396) and Eric is also our standing leader with a (393). (See results below for a complete list of averages)

In all star action, the Western All-Stars once again the led the league with the South again taking second. The Western Juniors took first this week over the south 1545-1542. Last I completely goofed on Madeline Svengsouk’s, name in the junior all-star section. Madeline shoots for the Rochester club. My apologies.

I want to welcome our newest club to join the league from Alex Bay New York, the American Legion Post 904. They are primarily a junior air rifle club.

We still seem to be having some issues with the Web, at this point it only appears to be the team scores and team totals. Fortunately this is a section I have been typing out each week. Please be sure visit the site and check out all the individual scores at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com . I will cut and paste the individual Averages as shown on the web site at the bottom of this report again this week. Please make every effort to have your team scores sent in on time, as soon as they are fired, by Saturday night if possible. Last week’s bye week hopefully allowed you to get ahead or stay on track, as it turns out the bye week worked out as a blessing with the cold and snow these last two weeks.
You can find the full results at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com .
