Crosman Challenger 2009 Question.

Post by jlochey »

Hi all,

I have a chance to buy a Crosman Challenger 2009 at a really nice price, but it comes with no diopter/peep sights.

Does anyone know the following:

1) Where can these be ordered from?

2) Are the Daisy Avanti 753 sights similar? I have some of these.

Thank you!

Actually, the older 753 sights are superior, but basically the same.
The older Daisy 887 & 753 and older Crosman CH2000 used Crosman sights made in Spain.
(You can tell these by a "Gamo" logo on the sight)

Daisy now uses a replica Gamo sight made in China ... no logo on the sight. These sights have more backlash in them and tend to wear a bit faster than the real Gamos.

Last time I bought them (maybe 2010-11) the Gamos were about $100 a set and the Chinese set about $25.

Thanks!

That works out perfectly. I actually have a set of the sites from an old 753!

I'll just use them!

Thanks,

Great question.

I had seen some Challengers for sale new without sights for a $100 less. Toying with the idea of buying one for indoor practice or holding out for an MAR-177. Of course it would only save me money if my existing Annie sights from the 60s & 70s (6702s and 18mm globes) fit the Challenger. Anyone know?
