Coat Cleaning Procedure?

Post by bored184 »

What is the best way to clean the dirt and grime off the outside of a canvas coat?

EDIT: After doing some looking and reading I think I have come up with two possible ideas.
1) Magic Eraser
2) Dish Soap, Warm water, a scrub sponge made for non stick cookware

Both would require the jacket to be hung up and let air dry.

Scrub it with warm soapy water, mop off with a towel, and then hang up in an airy spot to dry.
Bonus, is it also rejuvenates some stiffness back into the jacket, I do mine regularly just to help keep it stiff.

I know a guy that cleans his heavy canvas highpower jacket at the self service car wash.

Hi,

My cover of canvas coat is extremely dirty. I have tried to clean it with a chemical but the stains of dirt are not gone completely. Can anyone suggest me how to clean it?

Thanks

its a tool, not a fashion statement - just leave it and be proud of its battle scars ;)
