Weight of Anschutz 1900 and 2000 series actions?

Post by JasonM »

Does anyone have the data or link to where I could find data on the weights of the Anschutz 1900 and 2000 series actions? If that's not available, are there barreled actions from both series that differ only in the action (i.e.- 1907 to 2007) that the weight difference could be derived from?

The 2000 series guns are going to be a bit heavier than the 1900 series guns. The weight of the 2000 series makes them a balance point a little further back towards the butt plate (compared to a 1900 series gun with the same barrel length) and it also makes them have a greater potential for accuracy. Though the round action type (1800 and 1900) has an amazing track record for accuracy and repeatability.

The 1900 series barreled action with a 660 mm barrel weighs just over 6 lbs. A 690mm barrel in the same series weighs 6.8 lbs.

A 2000 series barreled action with a 660 mm barrel weighs 7 lbs. A 690 mm barrel in the same series weighs 7.4 lbs. If for every 30 mm the barreled action loses .4 lbs, you could expect a 500 mm barrel to weigh about 5 lbs.

I would say that the average 1900 series gun weighs about 11-12 pounds. The average 2000 series gun weighs about 12-13 lbs.

All weights listed were with a chrome-moly barrel, not a stainless steel barrel. A stainless steel barrel would weigh far more than a chrome-moly barrel.
