Looking for some Thune belt material...

Post by tenring »

Hi.

I'm looking for some Thune belt material to repair about a 16in. portion of my MEC sling that attaches to the handstop. If anyone has some or something similar or has some good ideas. Please let me know.. I've tried leather, but the leather I found is kinda stretchy. I thought about dog coller material, but what I have seen is too narrow. I want the 1.5in wide stuff.

Thanks,

tenring

Interested in this too as the front strap on mine had to be replaced with the holes pulling through.

What about buying the Kurt Thune belt and using that, not cheap I know, but it could be an option if you can't find suitable material

Get in contact with Centra.
They have newer, thicker material available for their sling now!

The problem with thicker material is that it is not flexible enough, and can result in excessive pressure and increased pain across the back of the hand.

I use a Kurt Thune sling and have reduced it from a double strap going to the hand to a single one which I find a lot better.
This mod was done by someone on this forum whose name unfortunatly I cannot remember at the moment but it worked for him and it works for me.

I am also thinking of replacing the strap to the hand with some webbing, which will be even more comfortable and fliexible.

Sorry Ken, I must have had a senior moment, they seem to be happening a lot more frequent than they used to.

Have you done any more mods to your sling

Hi Gary,
yup, dementia is setting in here too.
Last week I got to the range only to discover I'd forgotten my ammunition.
Yesterday it was my allen keys.
Scary.

No new mods to the sling - just cable ties to hold the sling keeper in place.
Centra aren't getting my money just yet...

Regards,
Ken.
