Oh Brewster!
One other question.
You sure it's not a model 61-S instead of "5"?

The "H" in the s/n suffix could stand for Hebard. This from a web source: The Colt 38 Special Kit, also known as the Gil Hebard Model, was produced between 1964 and 1970. It is basically an 38 AMU with a different slide marking, but just over 400 were produced in 38 wadcutter. They were pr...

.32 S&W Long

I too reload .32 S&W Long. With the light powder charges I wasn't comfortable with the 4 station progressive I was using so I sold it and bought a Lock and Load progressive. The powder measure seems to be the equal of my faithful RCBS Uniflow plus I am now able to use a custom made expander on a...

Stapler

I've been using one of these for the past two outdoor seasons: http://www.amazon.com/Arrow-Fastener-5650-Easy-Stapler/dp/B00004T179 For stapling targets, it's the best I've ever used. Prices vary widely though. I bought mine at a local hardware store. Also, unfortunately, some folks don't have very ...

I've owned a Unique 32U since the late 1990's but shot it very little until recently. Since the company is now gone and parts could be a problem I am reluctant to experiment with hotter loads for 50 yards. Where this gun really shines for me is the indoor 50ft leagues and matches over the Winter mon...

I had a pair of Rinks made for my AW93 and really like them.
Herr Rink can take up to 3 degrees of the grip angle out if you'd like.
He can also adjust the lateral grip angle for you based on a sketch of your
hand you can scan and email him.
After I got mine I sold the factory grips.

Interesting Chris.
I too cast my own bullets for .45 and .32 as well as the very few .38's I shoot.

What type of sizer do you use?
Star?
If yes do you size nose or base first?
Thanks!

Dan and Oldcaster are giving you good advice. I had RCBS make a custom expander that is .3145 I'm having no problems running it in to the cases after sizing them in a standard RCBS carbide sizing die but... All my brass is fired 3 or 4 times with cast bullets only. I do tumble them in crushed corn c...

Greg is right. You can pretty easily lower the gun tray in the Pachmayr boxes by removing then repositioning the wooden rails/guides along the sides of the box. I recently lowered the rails in a 5 gun with partition. I was able to accurately cut the ply "wall" with a tool similar to this o...

Accidental discharge

A question came up at the club I shoot at (it's not a shotgun club).
If the shotgun discharges accidentally when the shooter closes the gun
but before gun mount or call for the target is it "lost"?
Is there a difference International Trap and American Trap?
Thanks!

I began shooting NRA Conventional Pistol in 1972. In June 1973 I bought a B&L Balscope Zoom 60, straight model for $104.50 (I have the receipt and box in front of me) from Thos. Manetta in Elmont, New York. It's the only scope I have ever owned until this Spring. Although it's a great scope it's...
