Re: FAS 607 Slide Lock Sometimes Engages While Firing?

I haven't yet dissected that part of the pistol. I suspect, as you say, it's a flimsy little thing of custom manufacture. I may end up re-bending it or fabricating a new one from stock on hand. After owning a few TOZ 35's one gets used to having to work a little magic with springs! :-)

Re: FAS 607 Slide Lock Sometimes Engages While Firing?

Have you tried replacing the slide lock spring? I'm not sure if it's possible to get it wrong but have you also checked that the spring is in the correct position to hold the slide lock down? The spring holds the slide lock in the "down" position, but not with very much force. I'm thinkin...

Re: FAS 607 Slide Lock Sometimes Engages While Firing?

The original question regarding the slide lock engaging during firing remains, well... An unsolved mystery. There may be an explanation for the occasional light primer strikes, but that darned slide lock still engages from time to time. While it makes for a clearly allowable malfunction, one doesn't...

Re: FAS 607 Slide Lock Sometimes Engages While Firing?

Thanks for your reply. In this case the gun is essentially new, I would estimate less than 500 rounds total through it, including what I have fired. Unless it was stored cocked I can't think of how the hammer spring would have weakened significantly...

FAS 607 Slide Lock Sometimes Engages While Firing?

Hi Folks, Just wondering if this is happening only to me... Recently acquired a very lightly-used FAS 607. Quite a nice pistol to compliment my 602 and 603 - just missing the 6007 to complete the set! LoL Over the course of a few hundred rounds I have, on perhaps a half dozen occasions, had the slid...

Re: Walther SSP Damper system

Hmmm... Interesting comments here. For what it's worth, the first and second generation MG2's did not have a rubber recoil buffer (I have one of each). I have owned all of the previously mentioned pistols, save for the SSP. The Pardini got the job done but wasn't at all comfortable in doing it - jus...

Re: Center fire free pistols

Coming back to the OP's statement about having troubles with .22LR ammo... If you are having flyers from a true Free Pistol I would suggest the issue is almost certainly with the shooter rather than the ammo. I don't make this comment insultingly, but rather from a somewhat scientific perspective. S...

Diathermic - it would likely serve you well to spend some time with the "search" feature on this site. I've owned a fair selection of standard pistols and have made a number of posts comparing them. I no longer own a Pardini SP (had an SP-E) but my CF gun is an HP-E. I've standardized on t...

DES-32/U - Regretfully Selling

Just a quick note here to say I've finally made the decision to sell my DES-32/U. Because it's located in Canada it won't be of much interest to US shooters, but I do have a number of items that could either be sold with the pistol (preferable) or indvidually. They include a spare magazine in fully ...

Just in case... make sure the part number stamped on your electronics assembly is "760" or higher (760 is the last part number which I know to be good, don't know about any newer part numbers). Part numbers lower than 760 should be replaced under warranty as they are known to eat up batter...

I have held and dry-fired a recent MG-5E, and have shot an MG-5 with mechanical trigger from the same vintage. Trigger feel is very much a personal choice, and for my personal tastes I would not spend the extra money on the electronic trigger. The MG-5 is a lovely pistol to shoot. Even though the gr...

This is a common problem with Pardini electronics. I discovered the fix is far more simple than most people believe. The issue is that the electronic block is held in place with only two screws and these screws "shoot loose". Apply a small amount of service-removeable loctite (222 or 242) ...

MLD - your assumption is correct, hence the need for us to be extremely careful in dealing with this topic of velocity. My 162EI is permanently modified so it will not exceed 500fps. To respond to other posters with respect to muzzle velocity, you will likely find that if you spend some time doing g...

As a single point of comparison (and one data point definitely is NOT statistically signifcant), my LP1 groups incredibly well with Co2. When I converted it to PCP air it would never group as well as it did with Co2. After hours and hours of fiddling and testing different pellets, different velociti...

Having owned several pistols with electronic triggers (162EI, CM84E, Pardini SP-E & HP-E), as well as several pistols with mechanical triggers, I can suggest that it would be wise for you to review your own decision to look exclusively at pistols with electronic triggers. While I love my electro...

From a side-by-side comparison basis, firing Brian's Benelli with 100gr cast bullets and 1.8gr W-231, then shooting the same load in my Unique DES-32/U, I would say the Benelli was not unpleasant to shoot with this loading and grouped reasonbly well at 20 yards. For a pistol that's quite light I'm s...

Keep in mind also that LP10 mechanical triggers do wear over time. Having had the opportunity to shoot both new and old LP10's I can say the older pistols definitely felt better - less "gritty". Adding ball bearings improved the LP10 mechanical trigger in most cases, but still did not make...

OK, David M said it, but I'll say it again since the message really is important. After testing at 50m I've discovered that my Morini CM84 will shoot just about any ammunition into a 10-ring sized group. Some of the better groups were x-ring size. The worst groups I shot were with expensive ammo. Su...

I'll second David's comments about differences in grips, even from the same manufacturer. I have a pair of MG-2's, both with factory Matchguns right hand medium grips. The one grip required some filling at the heel of the hand, while the other grip is the only pistol grip I have never had to modify....

I haven't tried the CM22RF nor the Walther SSP, but have held and dry-fired both. Wasn't impressed with either, but would pick the CM22 over the Walther for a number of reasons, not the least of which would be the vastly better trigger feel of the Morini. I've owned an AW93, IZH35, Pardini SP1 Elect...
