Re: Pardini SP or Hammerli 280

The Walther I had was totally reliable with all brands of ammo. However, with time I grew fond of the lighter weight and grip angle of the Pardini SP which shot well with Wolf and SKJagd ammo.

Re: gun choices for .22 target

I shot my Pardini SP for many seasons before I finally exited the bullseye pistol game. Mine was fitted with a Don Nygord grip which fit like a glove. My gun preferred the SKJagd or Wolf MT ammo and functioned flawlessly with those brands. Previously I had used a Walther GSP bt as I aged the weight ...

Re: Suitable Dot Scope for Ruger Mk III ?

I have used the Tasco Pro Point BG (Big Dot) for many years. The Ultra Dot is also an excellent product.
You cannot go wrong with either sight.

Re: Steyr LP-5 - Erratic Groups

Thanks to all.
Forgot to mention that I was using the Steyr Weaver base plus a Red dot.
Found the problem to be a loose screw on the Weaver mount.

Steyr LP-5 - Erratic Groups

I have an old Steyr LP-5 which I have used for several years. The last match I encountered a bewildering behavior. While each 5 shot group was very consistent the distances between individual 5 shot groups was unbelieveable. often exceeding 1 inch. I am dumbfounded as to the cause of this erratic be...

No problem with a Dillon 550 with the extra small powder bar.

Re: gun choices for .22 target

I fould an old "beater" 1911A1 military parkerized gun and used the frame for a dedicated Marvel unit. Works like a charm.

Re: Steyr Lp50 picatinny scope mount

I use the single Steyr Weaver base which fits over the barrel shroud and that is more than adequate for a lightweight tube sight such as the Tasco. Also works well with reflex sights such as the Docter. One advantafe is that you can still use the open sights with this configuration.

Re: gun choices for .22 target

Early on i shot a S&W41, graduated to the old Hammerli-Walther Olympia, then the Walther GSP, and finally the Pardini SP when the weight of the Walthers was to much for me. I have more recently purchased a Marvel 22 conversion unit for the 1911. i use an old 1911A1 frame with a trigger at ca 2 l...

Re: Is any crimp required for wadcutter bullet reloading?

I have always used a very light roll crimp in the 4th stage of my Dillon to insure reliable feeding in a pistol. No reliability issues with either my Walther GSP, PArdini or S&W 52.

Re: Red Dot Sight Base for Steyr LP-5/LP-50 or EVO-10

I purchased the short Weaver style base from Krale Schietsport. It fits the EVO-10 but not the LP-50. Difference in curvature of the barrel shroud.

Re: Walther GSP Expert

My Walther GSP and GSP Expert were the most reliable 22's I have owned. I never had a malfunction using a wide variety of SV ammunition. As I got past 65 it became a bit too heavy and I switched to a Pardini SP which functioned reliably with Wolf and SKJ ammo.

Re: .45 zero 185 reload info needed.

For 50ft to 25 yards I have used 3.7 gr. HS-700X, Rem 2 1/2, behind the 185 gr. LSWC for remarkably consistent velocity of ca 710 fps with as very low SD. A very accurate and pleasant shooting load.

Re: .32 S&W Long and WST powder?

WST was Don Nygord's favorite powder for loading the 32 S&W Long wadcutters. I used his load in both a APdini SP and a Walther GSP before switching to N310. Unfortunately it has been over a decade since I used a 32 and I must have deleted the date from my files.

Re: Steyr LP5 value

For reference, there is a CO2 LP5 on Gunbroker.com that has a current bid of $1026. Pretty suprising since it is labeled as a Steyr 91. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/788770301 That piece is clearly labelled LP-5, albeit in a very fuzzy photograph. I believe that Don used ADCO mounts for the red ot...

In the 1950's we used those carbide devices. I believe they were carbide lamps. I have not seen them for many decades.
