Re: Real Lock Time, Barrel Time, and On Call.

I believe I am correct in saying that lock time is related to the speed of the trigger mechanism. This is the amount of time between activating the trigger and when the firing mechanism initiates ignition. Barrel time is different. Generally I think that too much emphasis is put on this issue of vel...

Re: I need a CO2 tank for a CPM-1

I am interested so please let me know when they arrive. This is good information to know. I was told by another source years ago that they o rings were not CO2 tolerant. I could not believe it to be true although I did not voice my skepticism. Please keep me posted.

Re: Hammerli 150 Free Pistol

Actually Ragnar used a model 150 that had been converted to an electronic trigger. This was long before the 152 came to be. He preferred an extremely light trigger weight and my guess is the mechanical trigger proved to be too prone to accidental discharges. If I remember correctly, he liked his tri...

Re: I need a CO2 tank for a CPM-1

I have a Walther CPM1 and it is a great AP. However, all my cylinders leak. The last time I attempted to address this issue I was unable to get any new O rings in order to do the repair myself. I was forced to send the cylinders in for a complete valve replacement at a cost of $60 each. This has bee...

Re: Why are Bullseye shooters such pussies?

Last night I started and deleted 3 responses regarding your post, Rover. I decided I would stand back and watch someone else chew you up first. I am not sure if you are really serious or if you just want to stir up controversy. Both I guess. Either way, you may shoot a lot of bullseye, but you do no...

Re: School me on scopes for BE

I have a reflex sight (Leopold Delta Point) but have not mounted it yet. Therefore I am not familiar with the adjustment characteristics of it. My plan is to try it on my Marvel conversion which should not be a problem because I make no sight changes from 50 to 25. That is interesting information an...

Re: School me on scopes for BE

I have several Ultra Dots (2 one inch, 2 30 MM) and all except one have been fine. I did have one go haywire on me during a match one time. All of a sudden it started shooting out the top in the 7 and 8 ring. It was at the end of SF so I changed to my open sight gun to complete the match. I sent it ...

Re: Morini AP Differences

I have no clue. My information is several years old but I got it from what I believe to be a reliable source. Whatever the case is, they were having some problems with the titanium model that were not experienced with the standard model.

Re: Morini AP Differences

As stated, the titanium model had a titanium striker to speed up the lock time. These new strikers were failing so that idea was dropped.

Re: Do Electronic triggers make the 10M pistols more accurate?

Trigger choice is all about the feel that you are looking for. It has absolutely nothing to do with the accuracy of the pistol. It does have to do with how the shooter feels about his gun. The way someone feels about their pistol can affect their performance. By all means shoot what you like, what y...

Does an electric pencil sharpener make you write better? No, but you might prefer the way it feels.

Re: advice on starting up an old CO2 pistol and tank?

I recommend chilling the cylinders in a fridge rather than a freezer. If the cylinder gets too cold it will over fill and will not operate properly. I have never had any issues with cylinders over filling at fridge temps. I have a Walther CPM 1 and has been a very fine pistol. I am not familiar with...

Re: Toz 35m firing pin spring

The firing pin spring is the only part I ever replaced in my extensively used TOZ. When I cleaned the gun, I would often check the firing spring in the gun against a new one. Often times I would stretch the one in the gun a little. In addition, I never left the firing pin cocked when the gun was not...

Re: Free pistol scores

Free pistol is mathematically more difficult. If the targets are scaled for the same distance, you are shooting at a smaller 10 ring in FP. Typically, my FP scores were approx 20 points lower than my AP. To be competitive, they are equally challenging.

Re: Air tank question

I would be surprised if there is a regulator in the valve. My scuba tank does not have one. I do not like to open the valve too quickly so that the air seeps in a little at first to more gradually pressurize the cylinder. I do not know if it is possible to burst a cylinder, but the thought of it cau...

Re: How do you get past 550

There are different ways to get to where we want to go in terms of score. Training techniques and practice regimens will vary depending on the skill level you are at. How you train to get from 540 to 560 will be different than how you train to get from 575 to 580. You will get all kinds of opinions ...

Re: How do you get past 550

My suggestion is to stop focusing so much on score. Try shooting 10 or 20 shots on a target with no scope. Discipline your mind to focus on technique, not score. If you are using proper technique, your consistency will improve. This should both increase your good shots and decrease your bad shots. I...
