Re: Noise in the World Cup Finals

This discussion reminds me of my dad saying he could never understand why Golf needed absolute silence to hit a ball that was just sitting there not moving. While Baseball has 10s of thousands yelling at the batter including the Catcher right behind him all the while trying to hit a ball going 90+ o...

I know I have always used the technique of shooting with my eyes closed. Well not shooting but breaking it like a dry fire. When you close your eyes and focus all your attention to the trigger you develop a finer feel for it IMO. Sort of like blind people having their other senses enhanced. It just ...

Make a shooting tunnel about 3 feet long and line it with egg foam. Hold pistol inside opening odd looking but effective.

You can fiddle with some of them until the Dr's from the insane asylum come to collect you LOL As mentioned about take each one of them at a time and adjust them to what feels most natural. Anything you can adjust from a consistently built position to allow the rifle to come to the shoulder, cheek, ...

I use a patch worm and just make sure I have a nice tight fit often times using 2 patches on top of one another. Gets down in the rifling good and makes it clean after a few passes. Most airgun rifling is micro grooved not deep like powder burners. As such I don't find any need for a brush of any so...

With really good two stage triggers set properly it is just a light application of that last little bit of pressure and the shot breaks. I agree not so much a clicking like a mouse but just becomes a involuntary response the finger makes when the sight picture is what you want. When the eye sees tha...

There are trigger mod how to do online if you look for them. I think one of the popular one is on Pilks site. You also might want to try some 8gr pellets in the rifle it might help with accuracy a bit depending on the barrel of course. The 7gr pellets are more pistol related. The brand you are using...

So many aspects to the mental side of things. It is a factor for sure. If your mind isn't clear and 100% focused on the shot things aren't going to go well for you. One of the main things I would recommend is not looking at your score. If you are approaching a personal best and know it you will just...

What is the head size of the pellets you are using? If they are 4.52mm you might gain a few fps going to a 4.5mm but it won't be much and won't really change anything with regards to wind drift. Plus you will need to make sure they shoot as well as other head sizes. I shoot a Anschutz 8002 S2 at 570...

I've shot silhouette at the Bayou Rifle range several times and they have a pretty nice Bullseye setup there and appeared to have a nice turnout of shooters. Not sure about any other ranges in the Houston area.

Not sure of the symptoms but I do know that the original FWB600 had issues with the cocking arm that were corrected in the later 60x models. Someone like Jim Edmundson could probably tell you if the problem you are having is the cocking arm issue coming up on you or something else. I want to say the...

I use only silicon based lubes, Super Lube included. Although I think the FWB Special Grease might be a lithium based lube. Stay away from any powder burner lubes with any petroleum content as the seals are not spec'ed for those and it can cause seals/o-rings to fail from being dissolved into a gunk...

Yes Super Lube is good stuff I have been using it for other things for years and it would be a great lube for airguns as well. And it's cheap and comes in all sizes as you noted which makes it nice.

Thanks for the replies. And yes I wish they would give more info about their products. I guess they don't want anyone messing with them to much. So I will just lube it where I think it needs it when I think it needs it till it dies! Then I will send it in to be re-sealed. I've got at least 15000-200...

There is no such thing as a Right you have to ask permission for. Do you have to ask to speak? Do you have to let police in your home without a warrant? No you do not.

The survey was done already over 200 years ago here in the US. Case closed.

See- U.S. Bill of RIGHTS and full Constitution for further instructions. You will find the original poll concluded being able to own and shoot your gun ranked 2nd in importance to everything else.

While I understand the desire to be frugal etc you have to consider that often times the upgrades to a rifle do not add up to what you could have bought to begin with especially when you get into smith work costs. Only to have a souped up Savage in the end. While nothing wrong with that and many are...

Anschutz 8002 S2 lubrication.. Any tips??

I just looked through the manual and it says to only use the "special grease" to lube the rifle but it doesn't point out all the places that need it. I know all the pivot points I can find on the lever etc but are there any other places where a bit of grease should be applied now and then ...

Best advice is to practice of course. But you need to refine your hold and then work on reducing the size of it. Read some books for starters. Search for the "Troy Lawton hold drill" on google it applies to all offhand as it deals with improving hold tightness most of all. I also like Tubb...
