ISSF Secretary General chased away with immediate effect

Yesterday, the ISSF headquarters were harbinger of a piece of important news. I leave it for general discussion whether this is a good Christmas tiding. The Great and Anointed Leader, in presence and with assent of his Grandes, has decreed the contract of the Secretary General - Willi Grill had alli...

Re: .22 Chamber Brush Problem

The (worldwide) best barrel and chamber brushes, bar none, are made by Erzinger in Wädenswil, Switzerland. They will be too expensive for Gwhite, but the quality difference to any (!) other product is immense. If one wants to go on the cheap, there is a decent Czech producer. Less bristles than the ...

Re: 10m only soon?

Ahem. Firstly, Ruig is not a native English speaker (and neither am I), which is why our English prowess obviously surpasses that of Bob Gee. Secondly, I share his abstract concern. The flame writing had appeared on the wall when the first continental championships "10 metres only" (as opp...

The usual European source for all parts Hämmerli is Judith Billharz in Freiburg i.Br. (Germany). And yes, I see that at least one hammer is listed with her:

Re: Shooting removed from 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

As has been narrated in other places (notably in various articles on the "Insidethegames" sports news website, but also in the [not publicly visible] Stirton Forum), there are earnest endeavours underway to snuggle shooting back to Birmingham, somehow. The problem in the past was British S...

Re: Need Info on a RHÖNER SPORTWAFFEN pistol

Ulrich Eichstädt gave excellent albeit brief advice. The company exists no more (bankruptcy), the factory premises have been revamped and now are rented by a totally different manufacturer. This gun at least in its last stage of development is not, repeat NOT an ISSF style Free Pistol, but a silhoue...

A used IZH-35 (a good gun by the way) is here between 100 and 250 Euros.

Re: On the horns of a dilemma...

Is the TOZ 36 still chambered for the (available) 7,62 Nagant long, or already (like the TOZ 49) in the rare 7,62 Nagant short ?

Re: On the horns of a dilemma...

I did. I use wide expressions (like "British Isles") purposefully. The exact public law differentiations between the legal status of the Tynwald, the Dame of Sark, Northern Irish unionists etc, I shall duly leave to the better-qualified pedants in a decaying post-brexit dungheap...

Re: On the horns of a dilemma...

In one of the various better parts (tm) of the former "UK", it is different. E.g., if you are a Manx(wo)man and want a handgun, you will apply and can get a police permit. The firearms law of that island still basically reflects the 1948 status of the then British Isles. Manx readers pleas...

Re: On the horns of a dilemma...

It is legally possibly (and not all that rare) to own pre-1918 handguns in England, Wales and Scotland. It is even possible to shoot them occasionally, provided that this be not for competitive or sporting purposes. Now for modern handguns, it is different. The issuance of an FAC for those requires ...

In some parts (only) of the British Isles, one still can... and they are nice parts, too.

Re: Shooting removed from 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

1. Very nice pics, Gunter. Thank you for the effort of reminiscing. 2. Bamburi range is still operational, though I am not sure whether there is ANY kind of ISSF type shooting anymore going on there. 3. KRA was subseded by KSSF a couple of years ago; friend of mine is a board member there. Yes, I re...

Re: Shooting removed from 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Hello Gunter, 44 years ago you were Kenyan champion in ISSF centrefire pistol (still the old rapid fire target back then). The club still used the small colonial-times "Baracke" (or in Bisleyan: "hut") near the Railways Social Club for .22 shooting back then; the wooden wall behi...

Some Indian sports functionaries are now raising hell and are threatening a boycott of the Commonwealth Games. Why? See here:

Someone on TargetTalk may have been there...
I was not in Maribor, but Reitz uses and also at that time used Pardinis. So it was an HP pistol in .32 S%W long.
