Re: STEYR LP10e circuit board
This board ended up with me, happy to say it is working again. The local prices the owner said he was being quoted for a replacement board were crazy and importing a board from Europe has its risks (I have a parcel from Buinger missing for a month now, lost by Aus Post) so there was nothing to lose ...

Re: STEYR LP10e circuit board
The same thing happened to me on the red version of the LP10E board, but not as bad as the one you have. Mine would come on but solenoid strike became weaker and weaker after a few shots as the faulty component got hotter until it would no longer fire. It is actually a 100uF-16V low ESR Capacitor no...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...
I gave it back to the student, and it was shooting about 3 inches higher. That seemed odd, but that could be from fixing leakage at the breech seals, although that seemed like a very big elevation difference. He re-zeroed, and shot a nice group. He took a break, and it was suddenly shooting very lo...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...
Even if the O-ring is "new".... Thank you, I'll give that a try. .... I'm also going to assemble a pressure test gauge so I can verify the front screw setting if I need to take that section apart.... I'd be very Interested to follow your progress on this if you have the time to post about...

Re: Steyr LP10 Suddenly Died...
If you wanted to go down a deep rabbit hole with Steyr regulators there is some great information at https://shooting-the-breeze.com/threads/steyr-regulator-a-before-and-after.41076/ where they have polished the seal on top of the piston to eliminate creep and improve recovery/consistency etc. These...

Re: Problem with LIGHTing on Scatt Basic
Sounds like you have pretty much tried everything but just in case, since you are only at 5m have you adjusted the position of the device to bring it as close as possible to the sight line and/or used the brass screws on the mount to minimise parallax error? I found that when in calibration mode I n...

Re: Problem with LIGHTing on Scatt Basic
Also worth updating to the latest software and firmware if you haven't already (go to About tab in Scatt Basic software). I found I did not need as much light on the target after the update. I'm also thinking of making one of these Scatt light box LB-01 side photo using cheap strip LED's with a dimm...

Yes, the animated target used in my review video (link on previous page) was displayed on a standard LCD monitor, both devices were able to detect the target no problems.JamesHH wrote:Has anyone tried scatt with a target on a TV or monitor?

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
No Terry, it is the first generation, generation 2 did not exist at the time of the review. Since you clearly appear to be working for Trace from your previous posts on here why don’t you tell us how good generation 2 is? Also I am still waiting for a refund so I can return the first generation unit...

Re: .38 special reloading question
A Chronograph will become your best friend. Slug your barrel, load for target velocity, have fun. and....? What velocity would you recommend for 25m/50m? How much over slug size do you suggest for cast projectiles? Edit: Don't worry, search was my friend.... You can use a slightly slower burning po...

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
Thank you ruig. ......Almost all trace buyers simply don't want to accept the they bought product of dubious quality . Your comment got me thinking, how could this be? So I went back and reviewed the threads on this forum that convinced me to buy the Trace device and what I found was a number of sup...

Thank you rmca and SlartyBartFast for acknowledging the effort that went into preparing the review. It was intended to be a fair and objective comparison that gives credit where it is due and encourage potential buyers do their own research and make up their own minds. ..... So who is desperate?! ra...

Scatt Basic vs. Trace Comparison / Review
I was a relatively early adopter of the Trace system having owned it for some months now. Over that time I began to have some concerns about the performance of the unit based on anomalies I observed while using the Trace device and some less than convincing responses from the Trace team to my questi...

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
After reading and viewing all the Scatt vs Trace comparisons I could find, I am convinced Scatt Basic best fits my needs and budget and quality expectations. Since the average daily cost of the various Scatt units depends on their unit life, I would like to know what life to expect from a given set...

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
It's important to mention that there are many different products on the market each suited for different customer needs. The main question is what do you expect from a training system? - If you want to get the absolute accuracy of the score the best way of doing so is to use electronic scoring targ...

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
Well, with my Trace unit using the latest software, auto target detection feature, 5/5 detection quality and Scatt simulated AP10 target at 10m and 80mm/s the results are very similar to scatt_manufacturer's video albeit more centred on the target. The unit also seems to be more consistent after a b...

Re: NEW SCATT MODEL???
Not really. It's been all Scatt so far. I would have thought that Trace would have done their own tests and published them but, so far, nothing. +1 +1000000 the total lack of response from Trace shows a real disregard for their customers. Was this last test done with the latest release of the Trace...

LP10E misfire
I have been doing a lot of dry firing recently, just triggering to release the solenoid with the action closed not engaging and releasing the striker each time. I have recently started having issues in live fire where occasionally it will take 2 or 3 pulls of the trigger (you can hear the solenoid c...

Re: Trace system
Also no real detail or documentation on the system, the data that is collected or how it is presented to the user aside from the "trace" itself so I assume that is all it provides, along with their "training routines" - built-in interactive shooting workouts. Software is availabl...
