Re: Buy a tuner or not?

Just to chip back in with my original question as Bryan has hinted at it above - if you can tune or de-tune a barrel by moving a weight forwards or backwards a couple of thousandths of an inch at a time, how will I know how much of an effect the weight and placement of my foresight is having? And wh...

Re: Buy a tuner or not?

If you read it again, he's confirming that a tuning device is having no effect on the bullet path once it's left the muzzle!

Re: Buy a tuner or not?

apparently the length of the tuner does have an effect on harmonics which is why the Starik tuners are all subtly different lengths - because they're made to measure for the length of your barrel using the formula mentioned above. As I understand it, the weight of the tuner is what has the biggest e...

Re: Upgrade anschutz 1907 walnut stock with Alu 1918 stock

I was shooting a 1913 in a 1914 walnut stock which I changed for the same reasons you are looking at changing - the fore-end was too wide for my hands and I wanted the ability to change things up a little. I went with the 1918 stock in the matt black finish that's now available as standard. The fore...

Re: A comparision of loading ports between the various rifle

Comparing the 54.30 to the G&E, Bleiker and especially the KK500 makes the 54.30 seem somewhat half-assed. The loading port is still really far forwards compared to its main competitors.

Nice looking setup - is the bridge over the loading port an Anschutz accessory that's supplied with the rifle?

Re: GE600 Stocks

Thanks Kenny - Does this mean the o-rings open wide enough to accept the bulge at the end of standard rifle barrels - Anschutz 1913 for example.

Great news - but how do you go about mounting the barrel into the stock on the Evolution?

Re: Needing advice on Anschutz rifle models

Another thing I forgot to mention - I used to suffer left hand pain when I was using a simple hand stop (the small circular Anschutz one) but now I've swapped to using a hand stop that allows me to offset it from the centre line, allowing me to get either more hand or more thumb under the stock. I t...

Re: Needing advice on Anschutz rifle models

That's very interesting to hear. I'm 5"6" about 140lbs and shoot an 1813SM. I can reach the trigger okay, but my left hand is only partially down the stock and the sling barely clears the trigger guard. I can also barely get off 5 shots without needing to completely peel the rifle off of ...

Re: New Walther KK500???

Walther have videos of the KK500 test rig being fired on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WaltherCompetitionShooting
Good quality HD video shows the action cycling. If you follow the link there's another version showing the action in it's left handed configuration too.

Re: Needing advice on Anschutz rifle models

I'm the opposite! I shoot a 1913 in a 1914 stock and I have added a lot more weight to the stock for better stability - And I'm 5'3 and 125lbs! I only shoot prone currently.
It's really what suits you the best at the end of the day!

Re: New Walther KK500???

Found this good side view of the bolt. I think Anschutz missed something with the 5430 - there's only an inch of rail above the bolt to mount your rear sight. The KK500 has a similar setup to Bleiker/G&E where you have the rail over the loading port. http://imageshack.com/a/img661/448/DkKlcd.jpg

Re: (The new??) ANSCHÜTZ Match 54.30

If you prefer the trigger mechanism of the Walthers, check out the new KK500 that was released today. Aside from the way the bolt locks the KK500 action looks like a copy of the Bleiker/G&E

Re: Premium match rifles for blind shooter. Help please!

A friend of mine who's also a member of this forum has just taken delivery of a new Tesro air rifle. I had a very quick play and if I recall the loading mechanism swivels to the side but I could be wrong. I'll give him a nudge tomorrow and see if I can get him to send you a message. All the best, Lee

Re: Felt recoil, light vs heavy projectile

f=ma and p=mv are pretty much the same thing as you're still multiplying a mass and a speed, be it acceleration or velocity and the equivalence between ma and mv is the same. You can take the examlpes I've used and come to the same answer using either formula.

Re: Felt recoil, light vs heavy projectile

In Newtonian physics, force = mass x acceleration (f=ma) so whether you have a projectile that weighs 120 units travelling at 1000 units of speed, or a projectile that weighs 100 units travelling at 1200 units of speed, the force is still equal at 120000 units of force. Newton's third law states tha...

There isn't as such a "1914" rifle - The complete kits you buy (barreled action and stock, as you have) are sold as the 1914 but always consist of the 1907 action in the 1914 stock.
So whilst there is a 1907 rifle (1907 action and 1907 stock) there isn't a complete 1914 rifle.

If you're not interested in shooting 3p then the basic 1907 might not be the right way to go - whilst the barreled action is a Match 54 system and really high quality, the stock is an older universal design, more designed to be an entry level stock for people getting into 3p shooting. The more moder...
